Theatre, alongside the opera and classical performances, has long been thought of as a form of entertainment for older generations. But the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta challenges this misconception with the launch of their latest 2018/19 Theatre For The Very Young season, which offers professional performances for children aged 0 to 5 years old and their parents, in the hope that exposure to the art form will inspire, aid cultural growth and expand tiny consciousnesses in a safe, tailor made space.
In partnership with the Paperboats collective, University Of Texas Youth Drama & Theatre professor Megan Alrutz presents 'Gimme Please!', a sensory fusion of light, music and magic that explores the evolving nature of friendship. It tells the tale of two friends, from their very first meeting to their last, and the growing up, interactions and learning in between.
