IT WAS BEAUTY AND THE BEAST... REALLY???????

I bought 3 tickets to Beauty and the Beast. It's my all time very favorite story and I wanted to share it with my friends. Gave them each a ticket for Christmas. I was so excited to be going. BUT, it didn't take me long to realize there was very little of the Beauty and the Beast story. I even had trouble figuring out who was who, i.e. who was the fella that kept hugging Belle? Was he her father? If so, why not make the dancer look a little older. The only characters that were recognizable were Gaston, Beast and Belle. I wondered how the children, whose parents paid for them to see Beauty and the Beast, even recognized it. Why not dress some of the child performers in some of the character costumes, like Mrs Potts, her son Chip, the candelabra and clock characters? They were huge parts of the story. The wicked witch that cursed the castle?? Dancing was beautiful. I applaud the performers, Would I see it again, no:( I'll stay home and watch my Beauty and the Beast video for free.

SADLY DISAPPOINTED!

This ballet did little to capture the wonderful story of the Beauty and the Beast. The Narrator was very difficult to understand. All three of us were sadly disappointed. I noticed there was very little clapping until the very end. I really do not think they did this amazing story justice. The dancing was very good. But, again, the story, itself, left much to be desired. At $46 per ticket (for approximately a one hour show) we regretted even going. I would love to hear a child’s viewpoint. It was so quiet during the entire performance, It makes me wonder if many of the children just simply dozed off. We did not dine at a restaurant before or after. The seating was adequate.
