I paid $10.00 for a program and it did not mention the name of the composer. If it weren't for Tchaikovsky there would be no Nut Cracker Suite Ballet. His name should have been on the cover.

THE BEAUTY OF THE BALLET IS GONE
Goodbye to the Balanchine version we used to know. Take your modernized lyrical millennial whimsical to Cobb County. If the Fox isn’t filled to the brim on a Friday night on it’s last year, you know there’s a problem. The Waltz of the Flowers used to bring tears to our eyes and all we could see was a blatant conflict between the remnant of traditional beautiful ballet and modern lyrical dancers in swim caps. Definitely not what we went in expecting.

LACKED INTIMACY AND DIDN’T FEEL LIVE
So much technology was actually a negative vs a bonus. Maybe the stage was so huge it was hard to make it feel full with the soul of the dancers. It didn’t seem like a live performance. It seemed more like watching a movie on a huge screen. The rats were the most captivating scene. Almost brought their scene to life. I enjoyed the performances at the Fox much more.

NUTCRACKER
The worst production by Atlanta Ballet in the eleven production I have seen. Absolutely awful art director and storytelling. Very segmented and confusing story line. I actual made me sad.

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED AND BORED !
This production was awful and boring !. What happen to the dance of the sugar plum fairies ! A lot of the fun and whimsical parts of the nutcracker was gone ! There was no magic...it was not entertaining for children . My daughter was so bored. I went expecting to see a show like the ones I had been to in the past. This was the worst production of the nutcracker that I have ever been to. The costumes were awful, they lacked detail and looked cheap. I miss the beautiful traditional costumes. It was boring and definitely not family friendly, your kid will be bored and lose interest...It was so bad a lot of people didn't return for the 2nd half. It was a waste of money and a waste of an evening...I should have took my family to see the Christmas Carol at the alliance theater instead .

NO SAFETY
I came to watch the Nutcracker for the first time since covid, expecting to see a lot of safety measures taken for the dancers, but as the show began, performer after performer ran out onto stage without a mask! As I searched the pamphlet during intermission, I noticed that it mostly the AB2 women covering everything (probably do to the rumored covid outbreak amongst the studio); I am hoping they all get a raise! Great job to all of you hardworking performers, and please know that you are recognized for your efforts to put on a show directed by a lousy council. Atlanta Ballet has lost another big donor due to their lack of acknowledgement for the real heroes of the show. Do better Atlanta Ballet, and take care of ALL of your performers!

I WANT MY MONEY BACK!
Where to start? No real costumes, more acrobatics than dance, scenery was in the form of backdrops (where was thel large Christmas tree of the past?}, disjointed story…. Easily the worst presentation I’ve seen of The Nutcracker. I expected to see a live orchestra for my $92 seat (not to mention the other 6 members of my family for which I paid). My granddaughter’s first time, she had a hard time following the story. All-in-all, not even at community theater level. Absolutely the worst!

THE MAGIC AND STORY COMPLETELY LOST
So disappointed with the 2023 production. The animations and digital effects completely take away the soul. And when did Clara become Maria? No Christmas Tree. Will not go back.
