DOOBIE BROTHERS PERFECT MATCH WITH CHICAGO

I am so hoarse! How can one say one band was better than the other?!! THEY BOTH BLEW THE ROOF OFF. Man that was fun. The Chicago brass, they are the best in history!

CHICAGO AND DOOBIES BLOW THE ROOF OFF!!

What a thrill to see two of the greatest rock bands of all time. The Doobies song selection was spot on (even though only one Michael McDonald era song was in the set), and displayed incredible musicianship. Pat and Tommy still sound great. Their voices have held up well over the years. McFee may have been the most versatile guy on the stage, playing guitar, harp, violin and vocals. Wow!! is all I can say!! Chicago clearly had a tough act to follow, but were up to the task, delving deep into their catalog, playing several songs that may not have been familiar to the casual fan (e.g. Introduction, Wake Up Sunshine, I'm a Man, and the entire "Ballet for a Girl From Buchanan" multi-movement piece), but were thrilling to the ardent fan's ears. The bands complement each other very well, and it was clear the audience was thrilled with both performances. The PNC Charlotte venue was great. Get there early, as traffic is not managed as well as PNC/Raleigh.

DOOBIES AND CHICAGO PACKED CYNTHIA WOODS

Doobies were great, but with only two original members, the sound was different. Chicago was unbelievable. After 50 years, these guys can still blow the roof off the dump. And the "younger" members covered the parts of original members flawlessly. Especially impressive was the solo work by the original horn players, killin' it in the 70's.

WHOA, STAND UP AND BE ENTERTAINED!

The Doobie Brothers only get better and better each time I see them. There's no way anyone could stay seated! Great musicians, great voices, a great show!!! Then there's Chicago. I've seen them so many times and never want the show to end. As I rushed to the stage toward the end of their performance, I got my love, James Pankow, to walk up to me with his arms out and fingers dancing all over the place to grab my hands as I told him I love him. So damn cool! Made MY night. Rock on guys!!!!!

DOOBIE BROTHERS CHICAGO BOSTON, MA

Once again, the Doobie Brothers rocked the place from start to finish, I wish they could have played longer. Chicago, is very good, but a few slow moments during their long set quieted the crowd down. The new lead singer / bass player was good, but tried to hard to sound like the previous members. Left before last song "25 or 6 to 4" I was disappointed that the two bands did not finish the night sharing the stage, as they have in the past. I'm sure I'll be back to see them next year, regardless of the billing.

CHICAGO-DOOBIE BROTHERS IN CHICAGO

Two great groups still playing after all these years. The Doobies walked on stage with no introduction and rocked the house. Their rendition of Long Train Runnin' was sensational in every way. Chicago had their hometown fans on their feet for the whole concert with both original and newer members sounding terrific. Their fantastic performance of Ballet for a girl in Buchannon gave long time fans a thrill. Chicago may be a little older now but they still sound great and the crowd was on their feet for the whole concert. Great family show and the seating and atmosphere was good as well.
