Harmony

Harmony at Alliance Theatre

Why see Harmony?

In 1920's Germany, one of the world's first boy bands rose to superstardom around the globe!

Harmony tells the true story of The Comedian Harmonists, a close harmony ensemble of six young men in 1930s Germany, who took the world by storm until their religious composition - a mixture of Jews and Gentiles - put them on a collision course with history.

This inspirational story inspired longtime collaborators, the legendary Barry Manilow and theatre veteran Bruce Sussman, to create a spectacular new musical with an original score that celebrates this extraordinary group of friends and their quest for true harmony during turbulent times.

Excellent night of theatre

Saw it last night . While first act felt a little long, I have to say that I literally laughed and cried throughout. I left theater humming and today I cannot stop thinking about this haunting show . GREAT sets, costumes, staging. Performers exceptional, earning all of the standing ovations they got. By the end I had shivers. Highly recommended. ... Read more

Do not miss

Surprised more folks have not given their review of Harmony yet. I did see this touching play Tuesday night. Had heard this was in Atlanta first and happy we where given the opportunity to see it in L.A . At first I thought maybe a little slow, but did not take me long to get involved in the story. The way the main character told the story of how this group of Boy singers of the 20's and 30's gives you a close up look at how they started and struggled in hard times. How they where such good friends that became successful world wide. This was a very difficult time in History, You feel the deep joys and pain of the times. The music by Barry Manilow was just wonderful and on point. Myself. I also enjoyed the. Wardrobe as it made me think of my family when I was young, the dresses, nylons with black strip up the back of leg, hats. Sight for sore eyes. Thank you for a great evening your hard work on Harmony shows ... Read more
