Choreographer Annabelle Lopez Ochoa's incredible tribute to Frida Kahlo is being brought to life by Atlanta Ballet, playing a limited run in spring 2026. Set to music by Peter Salem, Frida explores the emotional landscape of the singular artist's mind. Frida Kahlo became one of the 20th Century's most recognizable artists, mainly through her iconic self-portraits. This ballet celebrates her work, but also explores her passionate and sometimes turbulent inner world - recreating her dreams, hopes, and fears through stunning pieces of choreography and vivid and colourful design inspired by Kahlo's paintings. This piece was created by Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, a highly successful choreographer who has made work for 80 different dance companies around the world.
