There are few greater names in the world of soul than the Isley Brothers. Originally formed in the 1950s as a vocal trio, the group enjoyed moderate success through the proceeding decade, but it was in the 1970s, with the addition of some new members, that they really hit their peak. Taking their funky tendencies to a whole new level, they produced stellar albums like The Heat is On and 3 + 3, which included their now iconic take on Seals and Crofts' Summer Breeze.

In 2009, Billboard Magazine named Boney James the Jazz Musician of the Decade and the tremendously talented saxophonist certainly lives up to that moniker. While seen as a forerunner of the smooth jazz movement, Boney's style of playing combines pop and RnB and his style is often seen as grittier and more textured than the easy-listening genre.

Smooth soul crooner Jeffrey Osborne rose to prominence as the frontman and lyricist of popular RnB and Funk outfit LTD in the late 60s and 70s, but secured a lasting legacy as a solo artist with five gold and platinum albums to his name, including the classics Stay With Me Tonight and Only Human.

A multi-talented singer, musician and gifted master of EIGHT instruments, Brian McKnight also produces and writes his own material; his most successful album to date was 1999's Back At One through Motown Records, eventually selling over three million copies. As of 2016 he has been nominated for 16 Grammy Awards, however without a win, second only to Snoop Dogg.
