Loved It

Absolutely loved the show. The sets were breathtaking, just mind blowing. I was seriously stunned. The use of cyc visuals over the dancers during certain scenes was heckin dazzling and used sparingly enough that it had the same effect each time. I enjoyed every single dancer. I had my eyes on everyone at different times, and these folks are TALENTED. Totally graceful even when it's obvious they're using total body effort. Timing was perfect. Great work all around, no complaints, no notes, just fond, fond memories of human excellence. Also, Drosselmeier was FINE. Swish that cape, sir!

I paid $10.00 for a program and it did not mention the name of the composer. If it weren't for Tchaikovsky there would be no Nut Cracker Suite Ballet. His name should have been on the cover.

The Beauty of the Ballet is Gone

Goodbye to the Balanchine version we used to know. Take your modernized lyrical millennial whimsical to Cobb County. If the Fox isn’t filled to the brim on a Friday night on it’s last year, you know there’s a problem. The Waltz of the Flowers used to bring tears to our eyes and all we could see was a blatant conflict between the remnant of traditional beautiful ballet and modern lyrical dancers in swim caps. Definitely not what we went in expecting.

Lacked intimacy and didn't feel live

So much technology was actually a negative vs a bonus. Maybe the stage was so huge it was hard to make it feel full with the soul of the dancers. It didn’t seem like a live performance. It seemed more like watching a movie on a huge screen. The rats were the most captivating scene. Almost brought their scene to life. I enjoyed the performances at the Fox much more.

This production was awful and boring !. What happen to the dance of the sugar plum fairies ! A lot of the fun and whimsical parts of the nutcracker was gone ! There was no magic...it was not entertaining for children . My daughter was so bored. I went expecting to see a show like the ones I had been to in the past. This was the worst production of the nutcracker that I have ever been to. The costumes were awful, they lacked detail and looked cheap. I miss the beautiful traditional costumes. It was boring and definitely not family friendly, your kid will be bored and lose interest...It was so bad a lot of people didn't return for the 2nd half. It was a waste of money and a waste of an evening...I should have took my family to see the Christmas Carol at the alliance theater instead .

The worst production by Atlanta Ballet in the eleven production I have seen. Absolutely awful art director and storytelling. Very segmented and confusing story line. I actual made me sad.
